Beta 15 RC2 Pre-release. Some big changes since Beta 15-RC1: Kernel is now at 6.1.21 for PP and 6.2.9 for PPP. Plasma is updated to 5.27.4. KDE Frameworks is at 5.105.0. Qt is at 5.15.9. Systemd is at 253.3. Xorg-Server is at 21.1.8 including a security fix. Regular package updates.
It depends on how you use system. For me everything works flawlessly, I don’t see any downsides on my everyday use: KDE – works perfectly; games native and non-native (Steam, Lutris) – works, some even better than with X11; browsers, including screencasting on online meetings (needs pipewire) – works
Then there is the advertising on our Manjaro download page… Quote:- Xfce is a lightweight desktop environment for UNIX-like operating systems. It aims to be fast and low on system resources….! It should be clear to all that 112MiB used resource is obviously lower than Manjaro Xfce 650+MiB RAM. IMHO only one is clearly lightweight.
Just recently installed Manjaro with proprietary nvidia drivers. if i run nvidia-smi NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running. and inxi -G Graphics: Device-1: Intel 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics driver: i915 v: kernel Device-2: NVIDIA GF108GLM [NVS 5200M] driver: N/A Device-3: Microdia Dell
16. Q4OS. Support for 32-bit systems: Yes. Q4OS is a Debian-based distribution which aims to provide a fast experience while also offering a 32-bit option. In fact, it is one of the best options for 32-bit systems. It features the Trinity Desktop for 32-bit edition and the KDE Plasma desktop on 64-bit image.
The KDE performance varies. It's way smoother on the desktop like moving windows, resizing etc.. but when playing games like Rocket League It's not smooth at all.I have the same drivers on both GNOME Manjaro and KDE Manjaro and GNOME is a clear winner.I replicated all settings in from GNOME in KDE and it did absolutely nothing.
An excellent built-in interface to easily access and install new themes, widgets, etc, from the internet is also worth mentioning. KDE Plasma is simple by default, a clean work area for real-world usage which intends to stay out of your way, so the user can create the workflow that makes it more effective to complete tasks. Manjaro GNOME
Yes i agree, i left Windows 10 two months ago and i don’t need Windows anymore, because Manjaro exist. My friend without any technical skills successfully switched to Manjaro KDE Plasma Linux and she is seriously happy. Faster boot; Smoother working on laptop; Better gaming experience - more fps and better stability; Lower heat from hardware
