Location Salters, SC. TDI. 2006 Jetta 5-spd. Sep 12, 2016. #1. A few months back, my 2006.5 Jetta TDI starting acting up with the following symptoms: under moderate acceleration, at ~1800-2000 RPM, the car would "stutter" just as if I'd shut the ignition off/on very quickly. This only happened when the engine was up to operating temperature.
Atypical problems of 1.9 TDI engines are oil leaks, especially from under the valve cover. It is made of plastic and due to high mileage and high temperature, it deforms after years. This causes oil leaks. It also has an integrated crankcase ventilation valve, the so-called pneumothorax and appears only as an original product. It costs about $170.
. #11. Don't use heat on the egr valve, as it'll ruin the diaphragm in it. If you don't want to burn it out, scrape as much of it out as you can, then degreaser. It'll want to sludge and smear a lot, so it'll take a lot of scrubbing. If you have a heated pressure washer, use it too.
TheEGR valve has a pintle that is opened by a diaphragm, and beneath the diaphragm is atmospheric pressure. The vacuum applied by the EGR modulator or vacuum regulator reduces the pressure above the diaphragm, lifting the pintle from its seat and allowing EGR to flow into the intake either right behind the throttle plate or through a set
Usethe new gaskets provided on reassembly. Remove the bolts and banjo bolt then detach the support for the turbocharger with the oil supply line (5). Use the new gasket provided on reassembly (only applicable to some models). Clamp off the coolant hoses then disconnect from the EGR valve. Now remove the attachment bolts and then
HelloThe area around the EGR valve as in the photos is lightly flooded with oil. The last time a mechanic rummaged there about 60000 km ago because when the hose marked with an arrow was connected to Audi A6 1.9 TDI: Oil Leaking Around EGR Valve, Engine Power Loss and Turbine Issue Resolved Facebook Messenger Twitter
